Deep red fluffy plumes appear over serrated green leaves in early summer from May to June, a good plant for a boggy pondside or moist shady area grows to a height of 60cm and spread of 45cm. Mulch in spring with organic matter and keep watered until established. They are very hardy and tolerate clay soils as long as they don't dry out. The leaves and flowers are good cut for floral displays and it also attracts pollinators.
