Also known as mourning widow, in late spring dark maroon almost black flowers with cream centres appear on tall branching stems over light green basal leaves. They are best planted in either full sun or part shade in any moist but well drained fertile soil that doesn't get waterlogged. They are deciduous and grow to a height 80cm and spread of 45cm.
