The purple black foliage contrast well with the lemon scented pink flowers which appear in summer. The leaves turn an attractive red in autumn. A good shrub to attract pollinators, grown as a border plant to provide a dark foil or part of a hedge. Grow in moist well drained soil in full sun or part shade. Grows to a height and spread of 2m at full maturity, pru e hard in spring. Very hardy.x
