Erythronium dens-canis 'Purple King'
This bulbous perennial is a lovely plant for a dappled wood land border. The broad oval leaves are heavily mottled with brown and maroon markings the elegant nodding mauve pink flowers appear from mid to late Spring. The pointed petals are recurved and reveal contrasting yellow marks on the throat and white purple tipped anthers. Can be grown in any humus rich moist well drained soil in part shade where it will naturalize. As it goes dormant in summer interplant where late emerging perennials such as hostas and Dicentra are grown.
Grows to a height of 15cm and spread of 5cm
