Echinops bannaticus 'Taplow Blue'
Round balls on tall silver stems carry masses of small pale blue flowers from July to September. The mid green deeply divided leaves are silver beneath. When in flower this echinops is a magnet for bees and butterflies. It's other attributes are it's resistance to rabbits and it makes an excellent cut flower. Hardy it completely disappears in winter. Plant in full sun in any soil where it can reach a height of 1.2m and spread of 90cm.
