Satiny flowers in a soft lavender purple shade with dark maroon veins known as Striped Mallow. Forming an upright bushy mound which might need staking in exposed sites. Blooming over a long period from mid summer through autumn its a shortlived perennial but does self seed. Position in full sun in any average or moist soil it grows to a height of 120cm and spread of 60cm. Its hugely attractive to butterflies yet resistant to rabbits and makes an excellent cut flower lasting a long time in the vase.
