A fairly recent variety this Roscoe has purple flowers on reddish stems during summer. Dormant from autumn the strap like green leaves appear from April onwards. Grow in sun or part shade but avoid planting in dark shade as the stems then become elongated and weak. If planting in sun make sure it isn't too dry a spot if in moist soil make sure there's adequate drainage especially over winter. They are hardy and will grow to a height of 40cm, very compact with a spread of about 30cm.
