Grown for the stunning colour of its stems in winter which are fiery shades of orange red and yellow, plant in a spot where they will get some sun in winter to light up the bare stems. In summer insignificant white flowers appear.  Grow in most soil conditions in full sun or part shade without the vigour of other Cornus varieties it is great for small gardens.  Prune hard in February after the first year of planting to encourage new stems. It is very hardy and will grow to a height and spread of 2.5m after 20 years.
