Attractive bowl-shaped flowers in shades of purple from January to April nod over the large evergreen lobed leaves which in themselves add architectural interest. Best in part shade in neutral to alkaline soil. Look at their best under trees and shrubs in fertile well drained soil. Remove damaged foliage as the flowers appear and mulch in winter. Grows to a height and spread of 50cm. Make an excellent early cut flower, food source for our honeybees, deer resistant and hardy.
