This evergreen perennial bears saucer shaped flowers in shades of maroon and deep red over glossy divided green foliage. Deep red buds appear in February and go onto flower through April. They look great planted en masse and make a lovely cut flower and are best in part shade will tolerate full shade in moist well drained soil. Very hardy and resistant to deer. They grow to a height and spread of 40cm.
