Acanthus spinosa

Also known as Bears breeches this architectural plant has shiny spiky green leaves with spikes of hooded two toned white and pink flowers adding a touch of classical elegance to borders. Very attractive to bees, it is In flower from May through August. Grow in moist well- drained soil in full sun or part shade, remove faded flower stalks after flowering. Grows to a height of 1.5m and spread of 1m. Very hardy and awarded an AGM.
