One of the first Astilbes to flower this one has large plumes of soft pale pink flowers over shiny deep green fernlike leaves. Best grown in part shade in moist soil but will tolerate a sunny position if the soil is moisture retentive. Grows to a height of 80cm and spread of 30cm, is in flower from June to August and is good for cutting. Old flower spikes turn brown and are attractive in winter, it is hardy to -20c.
