Dicentra spectabilis (lamprocapnos)

Also known as bleeding hearts this certainly lives up to its common name with its red heart shaped flowers and white centres carried on tall arching stems. The reddish leaves appear in spring soon followed by the flowers. A woodland plant they do well in dappled shade in a fertile soil. Hardy and make an excellent cut flower.
