Echinacea pallida

Large pale pink daisy like  flowers with a prominant dark burnt orange  cone appear from July until September.   Native to American prairies it looks excellent planted with grasses but does equally well in a sunny herbaceous border as it doesn't require staking an excellent cut flower it is attractive to bees, birds and  butterflies very hardy grow in full sun in fertile moist well drained soil.
